Dr. Paul Cleveland
Dr. Paul A. Cleveland is a Hartwell University trustee and the founder of Boundary Stone (boundarystone.org). A distinguished Professor of Economics and Finance at Birmingham-Southern College, Paul earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University. Beginning his career in 1985 at SUNY-Geneseo and later serving as a Visiting Professor at the University of Central Florida, he joined BSC in 1990. His research primarily explores free enterprise and political economy, delving into economics, philosophy, theology, and history to understand the morality of free markets and the role of government. He has authored significant works including "Understanding the Modern Culture Wars," "Unmasking the Sacred Lies," and co-authored "Basic Economics" and "The Great Utopian Delusion." A prolific writer, his articles have appeared in various academic journals. Dr. Cleveland is also a respected speaker, having lectured internationally, and holds positions with several research institutes, including the Alabama Policy Institute and the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics.
